Providing nursing care for older person is an area of specialisation that deals with the care and management of elderly patients with acute or chronic disease conditions. Over the years there has been a significant rise in the number of Nursing homes for elderly patients with different disease conditions requiring specialist care and management. This Course will contribute to the training of nurses to manage the ever-growing elderly patient numbers in hospitals and residential care facilities in Sri Lanka with the view to upgrade the standard of care.
This Course presents concepts and skills that lay a foundation into the nursing profession. Provides opportunities to attain the knowledge and skills that are necessary to promote health, prevent disease, and deliver advanced nursing care to older patients.
